Get your fill of colours by immersing yourself in the works of Henri Matisse, just 1 hour from Lille.
From 23 November, discover the biggest collection of works by Henri Matisse north of Paris and enjoy an experience that is both unique and immersive.
The Henri Matisse departmental museum is getting a makeover and invites you to experience the works of the master in a new way.
In a completely redesigned museography, discover the full diversity of the artist's creations with displays that reveal the interaction between the colours, shapes and techniques. An ideal way to explore the prolific creativity of a man deeply attached to his homeland of Le Cateau-Cambrésis.
Thanks to a 1000 m² extension submitted by the Nord department, the numerous personal works bequeathed by Matisse himself and those later donated by his family are unveiled as you complete this sensitive, educational and immersive journey.
This unique collection is supplemented by the Tériade donation collection, with its many works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Alberto Giacometti as well as those of Auguste Herbin and Geneviève Claisse.
